Lie

"I'll just tell them anything,
What they don't know won't hurt."
Is to deny the truth
And a lie you will assert -
Maybe that's your thought,
But I'll tell you it's not true.
You don't care about how they feel,
You only care about you.

You're "too good to face the truth"
Your image couldn't say,
"I admit, I was deceitful,"
You don't care what you'll pay.
If you truly knew the price
I'm certain you would care.
You'd tell the truth until the end
And lie?  You wouldn't dare.

Payment never ceases,
Payment's always due.
No one else will pay your debts,
No one will but you.
Lies are meant to plague,
Snowball, and disguise.
They're a cancer, only growing,
Quickly doubling in size.

Go ahead and hand them out
Of your custom-sewn lie-sack,
But never ever be dismayed
When someone gives one back.
It really means they're proud of all
That you have said and done,
So happy, as a matter-of-fact,
They thought you needed one.

Watch the world more closely
With an eagle's pair of eyes.
The truth will always surface,
You can't live beneath your lies.
